My alarm goes off…
I get up at 5.30am, get ready, take husband to work, come back, make dinner, do some housework, have breakfast, take the dog out and head out to work. I am a morning person!
I’m responsible for…
The CASH! 😊 I deal with accounts receivable, including taking payments and issuing statements to Members. I get to interact with a lot of Members and their PAs which is interesting as you speak to people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
I got the job…
We were relocating from Isle of Lewis due to family commitments and I have a background in finance so when I saw the job advertised, I thought it was the perfect opportunity. I settled in quickly and I now feel like I’ve been here forever.
My typical day…
I come in, stick Radio 1 on (Linda’s choice), check my emails, deal with any urgent queries, catch up with everyone in the office and then get on with the rest of the daily tasks. Staff from around the Club pop round to the office so we get to see a lot of faces.
My most memorable moment…
1st day- Garry was showing me around the estate on a lovely summer’s day and I couldn’t believe how beautiful the site was, it took my breath away…
The worst part of my job…
Some aspects are repetitive but necessary as everyone working in finance will understand.
The best part of my job…
The social aspect, I get to chat to a lot of people from all walks of life, both in person and over the phone.
After Work…
I love reading books! I go home, take the dog out and enjoying relaxing with a book. Anything from a murder mystery to a psychological thriller.
My Plan B:
Finance/administration WAS my Plan B. I originally wanted to join the Police but back in the day there were height restrictions, and I was too small 😂
Ideally though I would spend my day sewing and crafting.
