Staff profiles

Let our staff tell you in their own words what it's like to work here at Loch Lomond Golf Club.
LLGC PGA pro golf team Conner

PGA Assistant Professional, Connor has been with the Club since April 2019. He lives in Balloch in some of the Club’s staff accommodation, sharing with one of the Chefs.

My alarm goes off…
It varies from a 5:30am alarm clock for a 7am start, to an 8am alarm clock for a 11am start.

I’m responsible for…
Assisting the Director of Golf and the Golf Operations team in all relevant tasks including helping with Member requests, coaching Members and guests (using Track Man and video analysis etc), keeping the shop stocked and tidy, club repairs, liaising with other departments at the Club to ensure everything runs smoothly for the Member/ guest experience, and on an exceptionally good day at the office – playing golf with Members.

I got the job…
I heard I got the job in March 2019 and was over the moon as Loch Lomond Golf Club is one of the best private member clubs in the world. I was very excited to start.

My typical day…
An early shift would consist of being at the club for 6:50am. I would be getting the doors open so that the Golf Operations department is ready for the day ahead. Tasks include merchandising, stock control, tee time management, coaching, communicating with other departments and keeping the shop tidy. If I am on the late shift the day will consist of much the same, but I need to complete the end of day cash up and lock up when we close around 7pm.

My most memorable moment…
My first round of golf around this magical golf course, it doesn’t get much better!

The worst part of my job…
What’s not to like about working here?

The best part of my job…
The team of people I work with are great, coming from just outside of London and not knowing anyone when initially starting was a little worrying, but from the offset the guys have been great fun, easy to get on with, and very educational! This has helped me settle in well. In fact the whole of the LL staff are very welcoming.

After Work…
I’ll spend time playing and practicing my golf, going to the gym, running, hiking or cycling. I also go out with friends to local bars and restaurants, which I have in abundance, being only 40 minutes outside of Glasgow.

My Plan B:
There was no Plan B – golf is my passion. My only alternative would have been to try and find a golf club with similar ambition to LLGC, which would have been a difficult task.
